LG Electronics' organic light emitting diode (OLED) TV has been selected as the highest cost-to-performance ratio TV in the United States for two consecutive years.
Leading U.S. consumer media outlet Consumer Reports has recently released a list of the five "Best Big-Screen TV Bargains" selected from among a total of 250 products.
LG Electronics' 65-inch OLED TV (model name: OLED65B9PUA) came in first with 87 points. In May 2019, Consumer Reports also chose an LG OLED TV (model name: OLED65B8PUA) as the No. 1 TV in terms of cost-to-performance ratio. "You'll be wondering why we put this expensive TV on the list, but if you're looking for the highest-performance 4K OLED TV, this model is the cheapest," Consumer Reports said.
According to the homepage of LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary, the OLED TV model is sold locally for US$1,899.99.
LG Electronics' nanocell TV (model name: 65SM9000PUA) was placed third with 80 points.
Second place was taken by a Sony LCD TV which received a high mark in sound evaluation. TCL of China picked up fourth and fifth places as it did last year. They scored a little more than 70 points but made the list as the only 75-inch TV models.
